I’m Melissa. Or as I’ll sign off here: Mel.
I’m a Chandler based artist with a BFA in Photography. I spend a lot of time hiking through the desert with my camera strapped to my back or wandering through the streets looking for flowers to use in experimental work. I work in an office to pay off my college debt and finance my artwork, and I also sell my art and crafts, as well as taking on small commissions.
I am obsessed with everything retro. Cars, pin-ups, fashion. You name it. I don’t take one step out the door in the morning (or more often, late afternoon. Hey, I’m an artist!) without at least one hint of retro glamour somewhere in my look, whether it be a bright red lip, cat eyeliner or vintage curls.
I’m kind of super quirky and weird. I don’t take life too seriously, and I hope that comes off a bit in my writing, or in things like this photo above, where I kind of take on the literal sense of being a crazy cat lady.
This blog is an experiment, and in ways, a jumping point for me to start new ventures and take you along for the ride. So I hope you’re ready for some crazy, vintage fun!
